Clear Past items from the Notification Area [Customize Notifications....]

• Open Registry Editor (regedit.exe)

• Navigate to the following key:

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify]

• Backup the registry key

• Delete IconStreams and PastIconsStream values

• Restart the computer
